SCOTT Murphy says Clarkston Colts will always have a "special place" in his heart after it was confirmed he had left the club with immediate effect.
The 26-year-old has stepped down from his position as head coach due to family and work commitments.
Everyone at the club would like to thank Scott for his tireless efforts in his time and he knows he will always be welcome at The Colts.
Scott said: "I’ve had the pleasure for five years of being the head coach of this wonderful football club. I’ve had many fond memories but now is the right time to move on.
"I have to place on record my absolute gratitude and will forever be in debt to the committee (Kevin, David, Kenny and Mark) and also to Derek Fraser as without them this wouldn’t have been anywhere near as enjoyable as what it was.
"I have to thank my coaches, past and present, for everything they’ve done for me and a special mention to Jack Haugh as without him I’d have lost my sanity many years ago."
Scott joined The Colts in the summer of 2016 and has played a crucial role in the development of the team and of our young people.
During his time at the club, we have established a second side (our 2009s) and enjoyed many happy memories together. From our annual trips to Ayr, to memorable moments on the pitch.
He has also spearheaded efforts to innovate, starting classroom lessons with our 2007s and helping coaches at both our teams earn their badges.
Scott added: "Finally to my boys, don’t give up and continue being you. Each and everyone of you are so uniquely different and fantastic at everything I’ve ever asked. I will miss you all.
"This club will always have a special place in my heart. Look after each other and stick together."
The club intend to appoint a new head coach as soon as possible. In the meantime, Jack and Ashley will manage the coaching side of things.
