CLARKSTON Colts are delighted to announce we have scored a £1,000 cash boost.
The Colts have been awarded the money - the maximum available for a calendar year - from the latest round of North Lanarkshire Council’s Community Grant scheme.
With our Mini Colts (ages 2014/15 and 16) continuing to grow and our 2007s in a stronger position than ever before, the funds will be used to cover the costs of lets - our largest outgoing - and new equipment. While a final decision will be made in due course, this will likely be on foldable, portable goals and other essential items.
Gordon Wright, club chairman, said: “This is great news for the club at an exciting time for all of us.
“This will allow us to continue to offer kids from all different backgrounds affordable football and we thank the councillors for placing their trust in us.
“Thanks also to all of the parents/guardians who supported us in our application and for your continued backing."
Founded in 2016, Airdrie-based Clarkston Colts have grown from a small group of parents and their kids to a team with multiple age groups.
Club chairman Gordon Wright welcomed the cash boost
Offering around 30 children from all backgrounds affordable football fun, we put the development of our young people at the heart of everything we do and have big plans to build on our existing foundations as we move towards the end of the 2020/21 season.
Gordon added: “We are all really excited for what the future holds and look forward to using the cash to build on the foundations put in place by our dedicated team of volunteers.”
We are always looking to add players to our club and we’d love to hear from you. We are also keen to add passionate volunteers to the existing coaching structure.
